I am going to do it this year. I am going to put the lime in the coconut and drink it all down.
Not like this. After baking the coconut, I will drill a hole in it and drain the juice out. Then cut the coconut with a band saw? so it is like a cup, then add the coconut and lime juice.
She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up
Happy New Year
Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, you too
DeleteMy fondest memory of a bench seat was the rear facing back of a station wagon in June 1970 with Marie, a girl a year older who was not shy. The ride was about half an hour - I remember wishing I’d lived further away.
ReplyDeleteGreat memory. Your limited time brought this line instantly to mind.
ReplyDeleteWe learned about love in the back of a Dodge
The lesson hadn't gone too far
Which elicited one of my fav lines of all time.
You see, she was gonna be an actress
And I was gonna learn to fly
She took off to find the footlights
And I took off to find the sky
ahh Harry Chapin ... I always loved that song...its on my car USB. I just listened to it this morning in the snow storm... HAPPY NEW YEAR to all !!

The line I took off to find the sky describes my life. No plan, but it worked out anyway
DeleteNever had bench seats, in my lifetime, in Europe. Not in the front of cars, anyway. Happy New Year, see you on the other side.

Oh my, you really missed out. We had them front and back, ideal for double dating. The windows would fog up in the winter.
DeleteWhat a silly song. I love Harry.
ReplyDeleteA bit silly, but I like to hear it
DeleteHappy New Year to all!
ReplyDeleteWe can hope for good times. We can all help others to find good times.
DeleteLike the idea of coconut and lime. Bench seats were not that common here, largely because UK cars were manual with floor mounted stick shift. There was a trend for a while to have steering column gear changes, but the complex links to the gearbox were prone to premature wear, and the mechanism became difficult to use smoothly. Another factor was seat belts. All cars had to be fitted with them from 1968. Compulsory wearing did not come in until 1983 but my. any people had worn them from the outset. Yet another factor was the taste for sport style seats. Even in fairly mundane cars the seats had side rolls on backrest and seat panels. It is just another of the features of car design that differs on opposite side of the pond. But we Brits did not miss out entirely, there was always the bench style rear seat available for amorous encounters. Now with the advent of self driving vehicles, couples could snuggle up all the way to their destination.
