I have never used or seen a whip used in spanking play. (Yes, I use the word play.) Floggers, yes, whips, no.
I do have a 10-foot Australian stock whip, which can take flesh off, but I only crack it for fun. I never gained the skill to use it to play.
These look effective

She wanted more and got it
Bacall liked to be tied to trees. I deem the trees in southern forests, mostly pine, to be too rough for the skin so she seldom got the experience. Forests in the PacWest are ideal - smooth bark and the forest floor is briar free.
My recommendation for trees is old, large Magnolias. Smooth bark, strong, reliable and some lower branches often grow nearly horizontally, giving the Sub something to bend over, if required.

The magnolias here are quite different than what you describe. And they are not found in forests, only as ornamentals in yards.
DeleteOn the presumption that a whip in this context is a single braided device tapering along it's length, I have a single specimen about two metres (6ft 8 in) long and is used regularly with my spanking partner. There is also a range of floggers with tines (or falls) of various thicknesses in my collection, some of which are as severe as a whip. The sole experience of tying to a tree was some years ago, when my spanking partner at the time, loved being tied to trees, the rougher the better. No similar experience since.
ReplyDeleteThe whips shown in this post have over a dozen short tails. I have never seen anything like them before. They could be brutal or a walk in the park. I would have to feel the leather to know.
DeleteI am writing a post about how to judge leather and wood implements.
Actually, it was I who did not want to use trees with rough bark.
A multi tailed implement, such as that pictured, over here is called a flogger or martinet (from the French for small whip). I have a large collection of various lengths and thicknesses of leather strands , plus one with horsehair and another with rubber cord. They are popular with the ladies here. Those with long strands need plenty of practice!
DeleteThanks Peter. I have folded your comment and my reply into an upcoming post.
