Way off-topic here.
Why Are Your Medical Costs So High? Me. I suck up a hellva of a lot of your premium dollars. I have several medical issues. Leukemia. The best kind, CMML. It does not kill you, unless it morphs into the acute version. I was treated for it and responded. My whites and reds have been both near normal for the last two years.
Prostate cancer. Did radiation two years back, and got a shot that shut down the production of testosterone. It lowered my PSA to .2. However, my PSA started going up, and a PET scan showed the cancer has spread to my lymph nodes. Another shot to lower testosterone and one a day pills. The PET scan was $15,000, and the pills are $10,000 a month. That's $333 a pill. My cost is zero.
Next up is Crohn's disease. I give myself a shot every two months. $30,000 a pop. My cost is zero.
That's $300k for shots and pills. That does not leave much for you. So stay healthy.
None of these has much effect on my day-to-day life. My only complaint is fatigue. None of the doctors has a clue what causes it. It was bad, and then I got Covid last August. It doubled my fatigue. I use an electric cart to shop at Costco.
Guys, endure the prep for a colonoscopy. Keep an eye on your PSA. I did, and the issues were found before they went too far for treatment.
In closing:
Not that bad but thanks to Agent Orange, I am totally and permanently disabled and thanks to 20 years in the Navy, I pay nothing for medical, not even co-pays. Of course, Medicare takes theirs from my SS. I have made it to 83 and will be 84 next month. I also have no energy and wonder if it is from the Covid shots, which I only had two. I have an army of doctors that make a good living keeping me going. The VA takes care of eyes, hearing and dental. One benefit here is that if your totally disabled, you don't pay property tax.
ReplyDeleteMedical insurance makes all the difference in the world. I would say most of us worked for it so now we benefit from it. Costs are high not just from medical providers screwing the system but from far too many being given free health care when they did nothing to earn it.
ReplyDeleteThat Camaro is a 67 BTW. That ass is a 10!
I’ve got a similar photo of my wife when she was 21 standing behind her 73 Camaro bending over and pulling her bikini bottom down.
I don't think I ever took a photo of a car and a gal. Wish I had.
DeleteWho could forget 1975? I moved to the South Coast of England to start a new career, and enjoyed one of the longest and warmest summers on record. Best move I ever made.
