  1. He writes about people and places in the South that I am familiar with. He is on my daily reading list.

  2. Not sure what that means. Grew up in the 1940's in a 3 room apartment over a bar and shoe shop on the north side of Chicago and were poor, but I did not know that as my brother and I always had everything we needed.and toys under the trss at Christmas, all my friends lived in apartments. Mom hamdled the spanking when needed and when she said the dreaded words "wait until I get you home", when my brother and I did not listed, were always followed by 10 wacks on our pants with a cut off belt that hung on the closet door for those.occasions. As for cash, I would take hangers to the dry clearbens for a penny eash, return bottles for the deposit, sell newspapers in front of Wriggley Field as my 25 cent allowance did not go far.

  3. It was an interesting take. I'm nowhere near seeing things from the right/conservative side of the world, but I do think we've gone too far with the whole re-naming everything to fit sensabilites. That being said I absolutley disagree with revisionist history that excludes the full history of this country. You can't erase something because it makes you uncomfortable. And yes, I do think I had it bad as a child because what is going on in this country looks alot like the things I was afraid of groing up. I didn't fight for everything I did during the 60's and 70's to see it all come back into play now for my children and grandchildren. Thanks for posting, I've shared the link with my friends on the left and the right.

    1. I did see his post as political, but perhaps everything is these days. I enjoy his posts always upbeat.

    1. Lee, I deleted your comment. Not because I don't agree with what you said, but I just don't want to go the political road. Hope you understand. BTW Bezos got rid of the WaPo editorial staff.

  5. I was replying to a post, so I believed it was OK, but I see that post is gone too.

Still Einstein's quote is valid in all things "Question Everything"

  7. Things are heading the same way on this side of the pond. This social crisis has the potential to do more damage than climate change.
