There were several notable Southern Rock bands, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers Band, .38 Special, and ZZ Top. To mark my birthday, here is probably the best performance of Freebird from 1977. The guitars go berserk. Those fresh-faced girls in the audience are now grandmothers.
