Web Stats

Some folks fear being tracked on the web, but they continue to use Chrome. I have suggested a browser like Brave before, but only a dozen OBB readers use it. And lose Goggle, switch to Duck, Duck, Go.

Where OBB readers live?

  1. Looks like you have a large world wide audience! I use Duck, Duck Go… is it comparable to Brave or Firefox? Thanks for sharing

    1. Duck, Duck, Go can be the search engine for any browser. It is changed in Brave Settings under "search engine".

  3. I wouldn’t know one search engine from another. They can track me all they want. Screw em.

  4. I normally use Firefox, but in the last month or two I can only read OBB and Hermione's Heart, in Microsoft Edge. I do not have the technical competence to know why this is. It is highly irritating to have to use two different browsers every night.

    1. First I will have to research what "Brave" is :)

    2. I would have thought the first sentence of the post and the graph of various browsers would clue you that it is a browser. https://brave.com/download/

    3. I got that part. I just like to find out about stuff before committing to things long term.

    4. No reason to commit long-term. Download it, try it. If you don't like it delete it.

  5. I second your recommendation of Brave, but suggest a better search engine than those you mentioned, namely Yandex. Use their search by image feature with the filter off, and you'll be amazed at the results.

  6. Surprise, it returns nudes? Grin. Downside it's Russian. I wonder what's down that rabbit hole? You can invoke the search on the command line. I did this using Brave. https://yandex.com/images/search?cbir_page=similar&cbird=178&rpt=imageview&text=spanking&url=https%3A%2F%2Favatars.mds.yandex.net%2Fget-images-cbir%2F2516333%2F7ytyPKU55FGkX1rtI_uGKA144%2Forig&crop=0.4152%3B0.2131%3B0.8295%3B0.7169&cbir_id=2180180%2FloKTxRcnrMCP72KjcpPNgg150
