Google or Wordpress

I have heard from two folks that Google seems to make it hard for Wordpress users to comment.

I have no allegiance to the fine folks at Google. Should we change?

  1. I would think hard about it. If stats matter to you you might be better off staying here. If blogging freedom is more important to you then WordPress has been good to me in the short time that I have been with them. WordPress also respond to emails and messages, unlike Google.

  2. I'd say stay, but regularly back up your blog. My blogspot blog, which I haven't been posting on for over a year, still gets hundreds of hits per day and is still linked on many blogs. It's hard to make the switch.

Having said that, I do prefer the WordPress platform for its ease in layout and template design.

Either way, I'm sure your loyal readers will follow.

  3. The cynical might think Blogger make it difficult for Wordpress on purpose - it seems very hit or miss. If you swap, you'll just have the same problems yourself! I swapped when Blogger went through a bad patch, exhibiting unstable behaviour. When I looked at the forums to see what was going on, the general feedback was very negative and the Blogger response quite inappropriate - you could see they didn't give a damn.

  4. IF you switch, you will probably not be able to take the old blog with you. i have experimented with this, and it simply doesn't work. So you would be starting fresh.

I also find WP harder to figure out than Blogger, but perhaps that's because I don't use it as often.
