A Class Act

Bacall was the last link to Hollywood's Golden Age. She had no equal at projecting an insolent, imperious, sexy, and slightly impish personality – which is a lot like the “Bacall” I married. I still see both as they were in their younger years. I think I will keep them both around.

  1. Well said. She was formidable and irresistible. One of a kind.

  2. May I honor your namesakes. The one and only ' Babe' Lauren Bacall, and her 'Bogey' Humphrey Bogart. Two giant legends of Hollywood's Silver Screen. Together at last, forevermore.at peace.

  3. Yes you are right - the last kink to the Hollywood's Golden Age.

I thought of you two when I heard the news.

    Love,

  4. She was always inextricably linked to him in the minds of the viewing public and it didn't always sit well with her. She had her own career and another marriage to Jason Robards Jr and children by him. Still, I can't imagine she will not be pleased to be reunited with Bogie again. Together again, somewhere, I hope...

  5. I don't know whether it was Bacall's voice (oh, it turns me on) or The Look or whatever. She was a class, sexy act. Don't forget her in John Wayne's last film, The Shootist, where she was a widow who fell in love with a dying gunfighter. She wasn't a kid any more but she still was an attractive woman.
    I'll miss her.
